Dawn Bales

Dr. Dawn Bales is klinisch psycholoog-psychotherapeut, MBT supervisor van het Anna Freud Instituut (AFC) en de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Psychotherapie (NVP). Zij is voormalig directeur bij MBT Nederland (MBT NL) en is nu (mede) oprichter van de stichting MBT-Expertise, partner in het wereldwijde netwerk van het Anna Freud Centrum.

Dawn heeft in 2004 bij de Viersprong de eerste implementatie van MBT in Nederland geleid. Zij is opgeleid door prof. Anthony Bateman en was als eerste in Nederland aangesteld als MBT-trainer en supervisor. Dawn heeft een actieve rol gespeeld in de ontwikkeling en implementatie van meerdere aanpassingen van MBT voor nieuwe populaties (MBT voor adolescenten (MBT-A), MBT Early, MBT voor ouders (MBT-P)).

Zij is werkzaam bij GGZ-Breburg als manager MBT innovatie, onderzoeker en als behandelaar bij trauma-focused MBT. Dawn is co-auteur van het MBT kwaliteitshandboek, van verschillende artikelen en MBT-hoofdstukken in richtlijnen en handboeken. Daarnaast is zij gepromoveerd op de implementatie van MBT in Nederland.
